This two-sided, sterling silver Gingerbread Man charm is hand-enameled in cookie-color brown, with white buttons and silver accents. This carefree gingerbread man has a broad smile on his face. Vintage and in brand new, never worn condition. Made by Brown County Silver.

Cookies and Christmas just go together, and gingerbread cookies especially so. Cooks create gingerbread houses and gingerbread men to occupy them. Ironically, though, the folk story of the gingerbread man is rather tragic and un-Christmas like. In the story, a gingerbread man hops from the oven when he is done and manages to out-run an old woman, a horse, a chicken, and several others, all of whom have the intent of eating him. Finally he meets a fox, who feigns disinterest in his culinary attractiveness. The gingerbread man relaxes for a moment and the fox is able to capture him and swallow him whole.
